Om virksomheden
Årsrapport 2025The company’s purpose is to produce and commercialize sustainable ingredient products from crustaceans and to process and preserve crustaceans for use in animal feed and other value-added applications.
Decameal has developed a circular business model based on the utilization of an extremely overpopulated marine crustacean resource, aiming to create a positive impact on marine ecosystems, agriculture, coastal communities, emissions, and the broader economy. During 2025, the focus has been on building and testing a production facility, establishing supply agreements with customers, strengthening the organization, and securing capital for future development and growth. The pilot production facility was constructed, tested and approved by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (Fødevareministeriet) in October 2025 and is actively running. The company has established relationships with customers across several industries, including aquafeed, piglet nutrition, water utilities, and fire retardant applications. Decameal has entered its first commercial contracts in early 2026. The organization has been strengthened through the hiring of three full-time employees, establishing a research and development department at Agro Food Park in Aarhus, as well as onboarding a commercial lead to drive future commercial development. Decameal has secured two GUDP projects as a main participant focusing on the establishment of value chains for crustacean harvesting and processing into valuable compounds. The total direct funding allocated to Decameal under these projects amounts to DKK 3.000.000. In 2025, a total of DKK 5.000.000 in combined equity and loan financing was raised from privat
